What Is News?

News is factual information about events that is relayed to an audience. It appears in the form of written accounts, television broadcasts, or from one person to the next. News is gathered through interviews and questioning of first-hand sources in order to formulate a story that is true and factual. It is also unbiased. When news is portrayed in an article or broadcast, the facts remain neutral and do not support any position or side of the story.
